Minutary ("the app") is developed by Nuruddin Ahmed. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
None. Minutary has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The app does not send your content to the developer or to any third-party service.
Audio you record, transcripts, and generated summaries are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Transcription and summarization are performed entirely on your device — your content is processed locally and is not uploaded anywhere by the app.
If you have iCloud device backups enabled, your recordings and notes may be included in your own encrypted iCloud backup, like other app data on your phone — this is controlled by you in iOS Settings, and the developer never has access to it. Backups are how your notes survive moving to a new iPhone.
You can delete any recording and its notes at any time from within the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
The app requests Microphone access to record audio you choose to capture, and Speech Recognition access to transcribe those recordings on your device. Both are used solely for the app's core function and only when you start a recording.
The first time certain features run, iOS may download required system components from Apple. That download is performed by the operating system under Apple's privacy policy; your recordings are not part of it.
Minutary offers two optional add-ons — the Universal Summarizer and the Multilingual Transcriber, open-source AI models (about 1 GB and 630 MB) downloaded once from a public content-delivery network when you choose to enable them in Settings. Each download is a one-way fetch of the model itself: none of your recordings, notes, or personal data are sent in the process. After download, both run entirely on your device, and you can remove either at any time in Settings.
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive or store your name, payment details, or billing information.
If you choose to add action items to Apple Reminders or Calendar (or leave automatic adding on in Settings), entries are created directly on your device using Apple's frameworks. Minutary requests write-only calendar access to create events. If you mark an action item as complete, Minutary can remove the calendar event it created — iOS may ask you to grant broader calendar access at that moment, and it is used solely to remove the app's own events. Reminders access is used solely to create and complete the items the app adds. If you enable app lock, authentication is performed by iOS; Minutary never sees or stores biometric data.
Laws on recording conversations vary by country and region, and many require the consent of everyone being recorded. You are responsible for obtaining any required consent before recording.
Minutary is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
